Biography

Mia E Göransson was born in Stockholm in 1961. After having studied at the Hovedskous School of Art, Göteborg, she graduated in 1994 at Konstfack, the University of Art, Crafts and Design in Stockholm. Since 2000 she has exhibited regularly in many international galleries. For many years she has been working on the theme of New Nature, with installations of objects based on casts of natural fragments, mainly in porcelain and often in combination with geometrical forms. In recent years her work has been moving towards abstraction, often with dark, surreal tones, but always with a playful spirit. Her works are exhibited in many museums and public collections. She also teaches as Visiting Professor at the HDK School of Design and Crafts in Göteborg.
