FAUSTO SALVI - Ten Years After
Artists Fausto Salvi
Officine Saffi continues its exploration of contemporary ceramics, presenting works by artist Fausto Salvi in a show titled Ten years after.
“Ten years after” takes its name from a series of works, "squared-heads," which were a milestone in the artist's oeuvre. Salvi, who comes from Brescia, created this symbol of protest ten years ago, at a significant moment in his life, and these pieces are topical still today. They have attracted the interest of great designers such as Philippe Starck.
Salvi's work is developing constantly, and in this show his oeuvre is presented "ten years after" with the inevitable changes that have taken place over the course of his experience, as a result of his constant work on technique, developed during his frequent travels, his artist's residencies abroad, and his absorption of influences from other forms of creativity.
A return, and at the same time a new departure, but seen on a different plane, without doubt with an enriched artistic heritage.
The show presents the works deriving from his travels, starting with "waiting for an answer," a series of bas-reliefs that reveals his inner voyage and his residencies abroad, during which he necessarily had to confront questions regarding his artistic directions.
His multiple experiences become a jigsaw puzzle, one-off pieces that nonetheless form part of a whole, sometimes creating small reliefs and forming a new, unique work: his life as an artist.
